Obituary

Vincent Paul Price aka “Superdog”

Age 62 of Blawnox, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Vincent, a Native American, was born on September 3, 1960 in Toppenish, WA.  Vincent was a proud member of the Yakama Indian Nation.

Vincent's life was very full and somewhat of an adventure, which could have become a wonderful novel.  He always enjoyed telling the stories about his home on the reservation and about his many travels. Vincent left Washington as a young man and traveled throughout the United States, all the way south to Florida and then returning to the north, he spent many years in Erie Pennsylvania. It was in Erie that Vincent, through his love for music, became acquainted with Ronny “Moondog” Esser.

Vince attended as many concerts that he could find in Erie, and there was given the nickname " Superdog".

Vince eventually came to Blawnox, under Ron's protective care.  Living very close to Moondogs Pub, Vince was able to fill his world with music both at the Pub and surrounding areas. He found great joy when the bands that he loved would invite him to the stage to play his handmade instruments. Vincent was a production assistant with Moondogs Pub, Blawnox.

Vince's second favorite activity was visiting Kennywood Park.  He looked forward each spring to the opening of the park and would wait for hours in line to ride his favorite coasters.  He often visited the park three times a week. This year the park opened on April 22.

If there is such a thing as a friend magnet, Vincent had one. His loving manner allowed him to gather friends easily and find a loving place in both families and in larger groups. He will be missed by many.

Vince leaves behind his "best buddy" Ronnie Moondog Esser and adopted family June and James as well as his many friends in both Blawnox and Erie.

We would like to thank the team of Community Life in Tarentum for adding both social and medical care to Vincent's life over the past several years.

Vincent will return to his family in Yakama where a private service will be held as he is returned to the earth in the custom of his tribe.  A celebration of life will be held at a future time.
