Age 54 of Fox Chapel, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024. Loving mother of James S. Zinner; beloved daughter of Carol (Knestrick) Henderson and the late Thomas W. Henderson; dear sister of Paul T. Henderson; dear aunt of T. Hayes, Emma K. and Sarah A. Henderson.

A lover of animals and a repeat adopter of rescue dogs, Susan grew up enjoying horseback riding on her beloved “Buddy.” After following her father and brother as a graduate of Brown University, Susan moved to California where she earned a masters degree in Education from Pepperdine University. She settled in Santa Monica and remained in California, where she lovingly raised her son James, until returning to Pittsburgh in 2021 to be close to her mother.

Susan was literally a life long Steeler fan, having attended her first game while in her mother’s womb. A collector of vintage jewelry and tchotchkes, Susan had a keen eye for selecting the perfect gift for family and friends. Many of her favorite days were spent with her best friend of 50 years, Kathy (Houggy) Ross.
