Stephen Baucom Obituary

Stephen A. Baucom

Age 51 of Aspinwall passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024. Stephen had a contagious zest for life and sense of humor. He loved spending time with family, friends, and coworkers. Born August 2, 1972 in Phillipsburg, NJ he was the son of Jerome V. Baucom and the late Lois Lance Baucom. In addition to his father he is survived by his children Ainsley and Reilly Baucom; his sisters Lois Boone (Steve), and Julia Baucom; his nephew Nic DiDominicus (Kim, Oran, and Eliana), niece Chelsea (Jody and Josie) and nephew Brett.

After graduating from Easton High School, Stephen went on to serve his country in the US Army where he became a Paratrooper stationed at Ft Bragg, NC in the 82nd Airborne Division. After being honorably discharged, Stephen pursued his B.S. at Penn State University. Post graduation Stephen held positions in the mortgage and finance industries, government contracting, and teaching at McCann Business School.  Stephen was a well rounded and accomplished  musician. He played percussion, guitar, and wrote music for a number of regionally successful bands in DC, MD, and PA. Stephen's love of music also had him teaching music, managing bands, and working as a stagehand. Stephen was born to lead, heading up his local BNI group and presiding over the Stagehand Union in eastern PA.

It was not uncommon to find Stephen playing chess on his front porch with neighbors, cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles with the Pittsburgh area Eagles fan club. He enjoyed any type of outdoor activity such as running, cycling, kayaking, gardening, or a pickup game of basketball. Stephen enjoyed cooking, trying new foods, and rating the latest Pittsburgh restaurant experience. His can-do mindset inspired many as he never stopped looking toward the future and setting goals. He will be greatly missed.
