Shelley Ann Peconi

Age 74 of Naples, Florida, passed away January 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with cancer, which she faced with courage and dignity. She was born August 26, 1951, in New Kensington.

Shelley graduated from Arnold High School and the University of Pittsburgh. She was a faithful Catholic and a true believer.

She is survived by her loving husband, Maurice Peconi, daughters Elisha (Josh) Harp and Leslie (Doug) Constantine. She was the beloved Mimi to grandchildren Evan, Rhys, and Owen Harp, and Silas, Elizabeth, and Joel Constantine. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Laura Valchar, Gail Peconi and Lorraine Bauman, nieces, Kelly (Bryan) Schaeffer, Kristin Konopka, Ellie (Zach) Beam, nephew, Howard (Heather) Covey, Jr., and several great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Darla Covey, brother, Marty Valchar, niece, Kara Valchar, parents, Barbara and Rudolph Valchar, and mother-in-law, Helen Peconi.

Shelley enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, daughters, and grandkids. She enjoyed planning family gatherings, golfing, participating in her book club and yoga class, playing mahjong, and practicing her faith.

Her steady demeanor and profound faith was an inspiration to her family and she will be missed tremendously.

Guests will be received on Friday, January 9th from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at the Weddell – Ajak Funeral Home, 100 Center Ave., Aspinwall.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 10th at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, St. Scholastica Church, 309 Brilliant Ave., Aspinwall.  EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, 1 N. Linden Street, Duquesne, PA 15110.
