Sarah Mae Aveard

Age 43 of Etna, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, after a long struggle with health issues. Sarah was born in San Diego, CA on September 13, 1980. She lived in Connecticut and Ohio before Pennsylvania became her ultimate home. Sarah spent her late childhood and teens growing up in Etna and Aspinwall, then planted roots and started a family of her own.

Sarah’s family and friends will miss her feisty personality and one of a kind laugh. She had immense love for those around her and often showed it through her talented cooking and baking.  She was an avid Steelers fan, and her love of the Steelers was only surpassed by the love of her children. Sarah always offered kindness and compassion when you were down. She was truly a beautiful soul.

Sarah is survived by her parents, Tammy Lever (Tom) and Richard Aveard (Mary); her children, Zachery Charles Palajsa and Laura Mae Palajsa; her partner, Keith Palajsa; her siblings, Andrew Lever (Sara), Tyler Lever, Audrey Jean Aveard and Erica Rose Shaffer; her grandparents, Joann Fernstrom, Laura Kittle (Robert) and Karl Aveard; her aunts, Kristen Fernstrom and Laura Jean Aveard Duarte; her uncle, Jim Bialowas (Pam); her cousins, Shane Bialowas, Brandon Bialowas, Alyssa Bialowas, Breanna Robinson  and Makenna Testa.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 7th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Avenue, Aspinwall.
