Robert J. Marsico

Age 71, of Sharpsburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 29th, 2023, surrounded by family.  Loving father of Angelica Marsico (Christopher Hixenbaugh) and Christina Shanafelt (R.J.), cherished grandfather of Hailey Hixenbaugh, devoted partner of Judy Sinicki, brother of Jeffery Marsico (Christine), uncle of Gregory Marsico (Tamara) and son of the late Peter and Marie Marsico.

Robert “Bobby” grew up in Sharpsburg with his brother Jeffery and benevolent cousins.  He later attended the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville, hailing the Pitt Panthers throughout his life.  Bobby is remembered by his daughters as tremendously patient and kind, with a true talent to find humor in everything.  He could often be found applauding his daughters at band concerts and from the sidelines of soccer games.  Bobby loved whatever his daughters loved; while sharing his love for Buccos games, live concerts, regattas, and Pittsburgh history, of which he always had a fun fact to offer. 

Later in life, Bobby adored visits with Judy’s grandson, Karter, embracing the chance to be a kid again himself and filling his days with joy and laughter.  He was honored to be a part of Karter’s life.  Bobby’s spirit and genuine smile will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 3rd from 9:45 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass at Christ the King Parish, Madonna of Jerusalem Church, 201 9th St., Sharpsburg.  Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, O'Hara Twp.
