Rita F.  (Santucci) Marsico

Age 87 of Aspinwall, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Family Hospice after a brief illness. Beloved wife of 53 years to the late Gino Marsico; loving mother of Raymond Marsico (Karen), Denise Marsico Buckey (Jim), Linda Balog (Glenn), and Gene Marsico (Ann); grandmother of Christina (Tyler), Jimmie, Julie, Brendan, Ryan, Laura, Katie, Bennett and Ava; great grandmother of Eastyn Buckey and Rhett Bordick; sister of Frances Dedo (Harry), Adam Santucci, Deanna Santucci, Mike Santucci, and the late Dominic Santucci and John Santucci.

Rita was retired from the US Army Corp of Engineers. She was very passionate about education, and earned a bachelors degree in public administration from Point Park University while raising a family and working a full-time job.

In retirement, Rita enjoyed gardening, baking, and most of all spending time with her beloved children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and grand dogs.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 5th from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at the Weddell-Ajak Funeral Home, 100 Center Avenue, Aspinwall, where a parting prayer will be held Monday, May 6th at  9:30 a.m., followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at Christ the King Parish, St. Scholastica Church, 309 Brilliant Ave., Aspinwall, at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Rescue League or Family Hospice, 310 Fisk St, Pittsburgh Pa 15201
