Rev. Elizabeth (Huff) Rodewald

Age 93, of Longwood at Oakmont, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024. Beloved wife of the late William Y. Rodewald; loving mother of Ann (Peter) Steenkiste and John (Jean Fong) Rodewald; cherished grandmother of Elizabeth and Paul Steenkiste.

Betsy was an alumna of Mount Holyoke College (BA), Carnegie-Mellon (BA) and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (MA).  She served two terms as President of the Girl Scout Council of Western Pennsylvania, was director of Christian Education at two churches, and served as Vocational Deacon at Christ Church Fox Chapel for over 35 years.  She was one of the first women ordained in the Episcopal/Anglican diocese of Pittsburgh, where she served as Archdeacon and was a longterm member of the Commission on Ministry.

No Visitation. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Christ Church Fox Chapel, 410 Church Lane, followed by a brief reception at the church. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contribution to Christ Church Fox Chapel.
