Rebecca “Becki” Lorann Linhart

 On the morning of Friday, June 9, 2023, Rebecca “Becki” Lorann Linhart, beloved daughter, sister and avid naturalist, passed away peacefully after a shocking and cruel struggle with a rare form of ovarian cancer. Born on August 14, 1990 to parents Debbi and William Linhart, Becki is survived by her mother, her sisters, Leigh MacAllister (Scott) and Molly Campbell (Andy), her brother, William, her nephew, James MacAllister and niece, Zoe Campbell. 

   Becki lived a fulfilling and inspiring life that truly personified the notion that not all who wander are lost. Having graduated from Penn State University in 2012 with a degree in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Management, Becki spent the following decade working for the National Park Service and regional conservancies all across the country. Whether she was maintaining hiking trails, building canoes, winning tree falling competitions or leading the charge on a big year, Becki was best known for her love of nature, a lust for adventure and obsession with Taylor Swift. 

   It’s been said, “In particularly tough times, we fall back on these questions of who we are, where do we come from. The national parks are our best idea and therefore, are the places where we can find the answers to those questions.” While Becki left this world far too early, thanks to a life lived in service to the national parks – and wild places in general – we take solace in the fact she departed this world knowing exactly who she was and where she belonged.

   Becki was deeply loved by all who had the privilege to know her. In lieu of a traditional funeral – because those who knew Becki knew there was nothing traditional about her – a remembrance and celebration of her adventurous spirit will be held on a future date.
