Paul Edward Dworak
Age 74, of Aubrey, TX, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025 in Aubrey, TX. Paul was born January 25, 1951 in Natrona, PA to Edward and Sophia (Wygonik) Dworak.
Paul graduated from St. Joseph High School in Natrona, PA and went on to attend Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), a Master of Fine Arts (MFA), and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Music. A dedicated educator and accomplished scholar, Paul served as a professor of music theory at the University of North Texas for over 30 years, where he mentored generations of students and contributed significantly to the academic and artistic community.
Paul is survived by his two brothers, Fr. Walter Dworak of Aubrey, TX and Roger Dworak and wife Dolores of Sugar Land, TX; three nieces, Jennifer Dworak of Dallas, TX, Ruth Ann Barkley and husband Andrew of Pearland, TX, and Sarah Marie Dworak of Sugar Land, TX; three great-nieces, Katherine, Mary Anna, and Julia Barkley all of Pearland, TX; and nephew, David Dworak of Sugar Land, TX.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Sophia.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, July 10, 2025 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Prosper, TX, with his brother, Fr. Walter Dworak officiating. Interment Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights, PA
