Patricia “Trish” Lane
Age 60 of Fox Chapel died peacefully in Allegheny General Hospital Pittsburgh PA on December 6, 2025 after a short illness. She was born January 13, 1965 in San Diego California and she is predeceased by her parents, John Lane, Myrna Huffman; and her brother, Rick Lane.
She is survived by her wife of 26 years Deanna Purvis of Fox Chapel, her adored fur children Kali, Mack and Harley, her beloved niece Kayleigh Goforth (Lane) of Americus GA and countless dear friends and extended family.
Trish was a Clinical Psychologist who positively touched so many lives through her work at hospitals in Pittsburgh PA, Asheville NC and Santa Barbara CA. In 2010 she took an early retirement due to physical constraints brought on by her chronic struggles with acute intermittent porphyria. Following her retirement her energies were re-directed to assisting with canine and feline rescue organizations which started with assisting pets displaced and homeless due to hurricane Sandy. Her love of and concern for our natural world was epitomized by the assistance she gave to hundreds of monarch butterflies to start their journey from Fox Chapel to Mexico over the last 3 years.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests contributions be made in memory of Trish to a canine rescue group she worked with Rebound Hounds https://www.reboundhounds.org or the Local Western Pennsylvania Audubon Society at aswp.org. Her memory can also be honored by individuals choosing any small but meaningful way that they too can help the wildlife and natural environment that is under our care.
There will be no visitation and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Weddell-Ajak Funeral Home, Aspinwall.
