Nazzareno Rondinelli
Age 81 of O’Hara Twp., passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2025. He was born in Alvito, Italy on May 13, 1943 and was a son of the late Luigi and Vittoria (DeCarolis) Rondinelli. Beloved husband of 59 years to Fulvia (Fiorelli) Rondinelli; loving father of Patrick Rondinelli (Cynthia), Louis Rondinelli (Tammy), Tiziana Rankin (James Jr.) and Peter Rondinelli (Tina Whitten); cherished grandfather of Megan, Melissa, Maia, Angelo, Nathaniel (Rondinelli), James and John (Rankin); brother of the late Antonietta Rondinelli, Anna (Nannina) Rondinelli Buono, Valeria (Lella) Rondinelli Tomassini, Oliviero Rondinelli, Rita Cugini, Antonia (Tonina) Rondinelli Cavaioli, and living siblings Pompea Rondinelli Pucello and Maria Rondinelli Pittore; dear uncle of Rocco (Susan) Cugini and the late Anthony Cugini (Julie Yann).
Retired from SNC-Lavalin Pittsburgh (Civil Engineer) where he was always the first to arrive in the office and approached his career with great curiosity, value, and hard work. In his healthier years, he loved to go to the nightclubs to dance, play card games, and provide pizza or Italian “sangwich” at parties to make sure everyone was well fed.
He was a pioneer who brought his family to America in 1973 spending many years building Italian American connections in Morningside before moving to O’Hara Township. He loved his wife and provided for the family. He was very generous to all and referred to by some as “big buck” or “mega buck”. He enjoyed sports - coaching his kids in Morningside; playing middle age soccer with his “paisano”; attending his grandchildrens’ sporting events; passionately supporting Juventus, Italian National Team, Steelers, and Pitt football, as well as Ferrari Formula One car racing. He was also a devout Catholic who repeated the rosary his last days.
