Matthew Hunter, Jr.

Age 89 of Sharpsburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 11, 2022 with family at his side. Matthew was born in Powder Springs, GA on October 30, 1932 and was the son of the late Matthew and Mary (Anderson) Hunter, Sr. Matthew was a proud veteran serving with the US Army during the Korean War, He enjoyed riding his Harley Motorcycle and was a member of the Night Hawks and enjoyed his motorcycle roundup trips. He also loved jazz music and going to cabarets. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jacqueline Hunter. Matthew is survived by his sons, Maurice C., Sr. and Richard; his daughter, Sharon; his grandchildren, Maurice C., II and Javona Acres; also 4 great grandchildren; his brother, Thurman; his sister, Christine Fields.

Family and friends received at the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Ave. Aspinwall on Monday, June 20th from 11 a.m. until the 12 Noon funeral service, with the Rev. Edward Hines, officiating, followed by Military honors by the Army. Burial will be private at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
