Marian J. Streiff

Of O’Hara Township, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 7, 2022, after a two-year battle with cancer.  She was preceded in death by her parents James and Ruth Streiff.  She is survived by two brothers, Michael (Lisa) and Mark also her cousin, Barbara Valentine (John) as well as numerous cousins, family members and great friends.

After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a Master’s Degree in Library Science, she began an over 30-year career at Carnegie Library where she successfully held many positions.   She went on to become the head of the Mt.  Washington Branch. She was a beloved, active member of community.  She had a proclamation by Pittsburgh City Council honoring her with Marian Streiff day. She was an avid reader and shared her love of books by leading many book clubs over the years.

She was an avid lifelong Steeler fan and enjoyed sharing Steeler Sundays with family and friends. Marian lived her life on her own terms and will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.  

There will be no visitation and interment at St. Mary Cemetery, O'Hara Township, will be private.
