Marcia Wilson Collins died peacefully on June 24, 2020, at the age of 94. Born on January 30, 1926, she was known to most everyone by her nickname Mish. She attended the Agnes Irwin School, and met her husband-to-be when she was a bridesmaid and he the last-minute-fill-in groomsman at a wedding. Together with her husband of 57 years, Frank Rives Berryman (Berry) Collins, she was the co-proprietor of The Red Sleigh, a children’s clothing store where she was known for greeting her customers by name. Friendly and outgoing, Mish had a gift for starting conversations with perfect strangers and for making friends along the way. She never met a dog she didn’t like, and fostered kittens even late in her life. She was much loved by her three sons, Rives, Fraser, and Barney Collins, and their spouses Kirsty, Kim, and Rachel. She will be especially missed by her six grandchildren; Caitlin, Ethan, Norris, Ridley, Rachael, and Grace, who adored spending time with her. She had a fondness for jigsaw puzzles (though her family suspects she occasionally beat them with a mallet), for singing with friends, for eating good food slowly, for movies with happy endings, for feeding wild birds, and especially, for time with her grandchildren, watching them grow from feisty toddlers to fascinating young adults. Services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations would gladly be accepted at https://www.humaneanimalrescue.org/ or https://www.feedingamerica.org/.
