It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Lorraine Maslaney into the arms of Jesus.
Lorraine, 96, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on November 30, 2025. She was born in Raccoon, Pa, the daughter of Pete and Olive Caleffe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Nick and her brother Richard. Surviving are her children Karen, Karla (Rick), Nick (Barbara) and Ken. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Lauren (Sean), Michael (Lindsey), Ben, Kevin (Sabrina), Megan, Derek (Jessica), and Carrie. Also surviving are 7 great grand-children, Henry, Ellie, Will, Luka, Kaia, Isabella and Theo, as well as many nieces and nephews, and special family member David Koyack.
Lorraine traveled extensively and enjoyed telling stories of her travels to family members. She loved Aspinwall, living there for 60 years, and was a long-time member of Christ the King Parish. She was involved in the election board, the Democratic Committee, the resurrection choir, and spent many nights at the Aspinwall Ballfield watching her children play ball. She enjoyed gathering family members for reunions, and her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was a long-time campaigner against homelessness and regularly volunteered at the Light of Life Rescue Mission.
Visitation will be Thursday December 4, from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Weddell-Ajak Funeral Home, 100 Center Ave., Aspinwall. A Christian Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, St. Scholastica Church, 309 Brilliant Ave., Aspinwall. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, O’Hara Township. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Light of Light Rescue Mission.
