Kathy J. Lessig

Age 71, of Tarentum, formerly of Creighton, passed away with family at her side on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at UPMC St. Margaret. Kathy was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 13, 1953 and was a daughter of the late William and Anna (Holetich) Hooper. Kathy was a 1971 graduate of Deer Lakes High School. She was a private duty nursing assistant at various nursing homes. Kathy was an animal lover, a car enthusiast and a huge Elvis Presley fan. Kathy always had a smile on her face and was known as “Happy Kathy”

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Philip M. Lessig; and her sister, Carol Powanda. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Hoey of Northside; her sister, Nancy Pribich of Highland Park; her nephews, John “Jackie” Novak, Jr. of Blawnox and David J. (Cathy) Novak of Cheswick; her niece, Nancy L. Dott of Highland Park; her great nephews, Kyle B. Novak, Travis M. Novak and David Jones.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 13th at the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Avenue, Aspinwall from 6 p.m. until the funeral service at 8 p.m., officiating will be the Rev. Amy Newell, Pastor of Hoboken Presbyterian Church, Blawnox. Interment private.
