Dr. Stanley R. Palko, 76, of Pittsburgh, died peacefully at AGH on August 5, 2025. Born in Gallitzin, PA, Stanley was the son of the late Christine and Stanley Palko. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Patty. He was the dedicated father of Nicole (Gregory), Timothy (Laura), and Michael (Julie) and the cherished DzaDza of Matthew, Katelyn, Owen, Reese and Alexandra. He is also survived by his siblings, Rosemarie Kovarcik, Thomas Palko and Rodger Palko.
Stanley will be remembered for his great stories, his devotion to his patients in his optometric practice, and his love of golf. An optometrist for over 50 years, Stanley specialized in low vision care and specialty contact lenses. He was proud of his work with the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE), where he served on the board for 14 years, 10 of those years as the chairman. He strongly believed in CORE’s mission and became a donor himself.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, August 16 from 9 AM until the 10 AM funeral Mass at Christ the King Parish, St. Joseph Church, 342 Dorseyville Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15215. Interment will be private.
