Age 69 of New Kensington, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the VA Hospital, O’Hara Twp.  Douglas was born on January 4, 1953 and grew up in Cheswick.  He was the son of the late Donald W. and Sara (Boswell) Abel.  He graduated from Springdale High School and served with the Air Force as a vehicle repairman, attaining the rank of Sergeant.  After serving, he worked as an auto mechanic.
 
He is survived by his son Scott Kendall; his brothers, Dale (Nancy) Abel, Dean Abel; his sister Denise (Tim) Delaney. No Visitation. A private family service with burial at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, will be held.
