David L. Seifried

Age 82 of O’Hara Twp., passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. Beloved husband of Joyce (Danile) Seifried. Loving father of Scott (Laura) Seifried, Amy Seifried, Henry (Pam) Seifried, Jennifer Seifried and Darla Seifried. Also, beloved by four grandchildren; his brother of Joseph (Janet) Seifried; his late sister Mary Donnelly; numerous nieces and nephews; and his little cavachon pup, Daisy.

For nearly 60 years, Dave was a mainstay in the West View community as the owner and operator of La Belle Salon. Loved by all who knew him, Dave will be remembered best by how he lived each day of his life — focused always on how much he could give rather than receive. Dave's family was the center of his life. He and his wife Joyce met while teaching Sunday school at All Saints Church in Etna, and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 8, 2024. Dave was also a devoted father and grandfather, and at heart, a teacher. By example, he taught his family how to live by demonstrating kindness, patience, self-sacrifice and humility. Included among his family’s cherished memories are Monday trips to the Carnegie library, horseback riding, crazy hugs, his dahlias and vegetable garden and the sound of his laughter. A simple and modest man, Dave's greatest impact was felt through the immeasurable depth of his love, which was, and is, unceasing. It was a gift to have shared this world with him; all those who have had that privilege have been changed forever.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 11th from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Avenue, Aspinwall, where a parting prayer will be held on Friday, April 12th at 10 a.m., followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, St. Mary Church, 210 Garnier St., Sharpsburg. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, O’Hara Twp.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association.
