Cynthia "Cindy"  M. Akanowicz

Age 67, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 with her family at her side.  Beloved wife of 45 years of Robert "Bob" Akanowicz; loving mother of Jonathan (Elizabeth) Akanowicz, Brian P. Akanowicz and the late Joshua Akanowicz; Cherished grandmother of Grace, Jonathan, Jr., Sylvie and Margot; devoted sister of Deborah D'Amico, Patricia (Angelo) Celani and Steven A. (Letitia) D'Amico; sister-in-law of Charlene A. Akanowicz; Godmother of Kristen (Russell) Booth. 

Cindy graduated from St. Margaret’s hospital school of nursing. She worked as a lead nurse at St. Margaret hospital, then finished her nursing career as a school nurse in the Fox Chapel Area School District.
 

A private family visitation and service will be held at the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Avenue, Aspinwall. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggest memorial contributions to Aspinwall Fire Department, 217 Commercial Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15215 or to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
