Constance T. "Connie" Mimi" "Meem" Morrison
Age 95, of Fox Chapel, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2023, surrounded by her family. Connie was born in Yonkers, NY to John F. and Constance Meehan Thomas. She attended Goucher College graduating in 1950. She married Bruce W. Morrison on November 15, 1952. Together they built a family that included 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Always up for a new challenge, Connie made every house the family lived in (Long Island, NY, Needham, MA, Stamford, CT, Philadelphia, PA (twice) and Fox Chapel (twice), a home where all were welcome. These included inner city youths from The Fresh Air Fund, exchange students from Japan, France and Luxembourg, and a 13 year-old Vietnamese girl, Diem, while she recovered from injuries suffered during the Viet Nam War. She remained in touch with Diem until recently. Connie was the true Matriarch.
Her life was one of constant personal growth, even while raising her family. She taught nursery school, worked as a receptionist in a dental office and studied art, becoming a docent at The Carnegie, The Frick and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She traveled extensively with Bruce until his passing in 2012 and delighted in the growth of the third generation of her family.
She is survived by her 6 children; Gail Holtz, Leslie Sullivan, Dr. Bruce Morrison, Jr. (Johanna), Andrew (Karen), Douglas (Dr. Jennifer) and David (Dr. Julie), 14 grandchildren Kristen McLaughlin (Tom), Maggie Fox (Matt), Grace Ritterman (Andy), Louise Stanley (Brandon), Dr. Celeste Morrison, Ali Morrison (fiance Matt Un), Bruce Morrison, III, Patrick Morrison, Jack Morrison, Kathryn Morrison, Thomas Morrison, Will Morrison, Andrew Morrison and Henry Morrison, and 11 great-grandchildren; Jack McLaughlin, Charlie McLaughlin, Rory McLaughlin, Ryan McLaughlin, Charlotte Fox, Quinn Fox, Asher Fox, Sadie Ritterman, Cole Ritterman, Shea Ritterman and Finn Stanley.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 28th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Avenue. Aspinwall. A Christian Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 29th at 1 p.m. at Christ the King Parish, St. Scholastica Church, 309 Brilliant Avenue, Aspinwall.
