Connie Ann Valenti
Age 87, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
Beloved wife of 54 years to Jerome “Jerry” Valenti. She is survived by her husband, her three children, and two grandchildren.
Connie is a woman of deep faith and spiritual creativity who has authored three full length published books titled “Stories of Jesus – A Gospel of Faith and Imagination”, “The Story of Creation”, and “The Great Awakening.” The “Stories of Jesus” is part of a collection of more than 800 such stories that Msgr. Ron Lengwin uses to introduce his Amplify program each week. She was an intimate part of the book titled “The Demon of Brownsville Road.”
She was also the creator and director of a videotape on the Stations of the Cross with then Bishop Donald Wuerl; three audiotapes on the mysteries of the Rosary also with now Cardinal Wuerl; and the inspiration and guide for a world center of peace and light called Lumen Gentium, yet to be built.
Connie was the creator of a line of greeting cards and helped to develop cartoon characters. For 25 years she wrote a column in the Pittsburgh Catholic with Msgr. Lengwin that was called Home Again. Her greatest impact, however, may have been the spiritual guidance and support she gave for more than 50 years to unknown numbers of “questioning souls” who sought her inspired knowledge of some life changing mystery in their lives.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 24th from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. at the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Avenue, Aspinwall, where a parting prayer will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, St. Scholastica Church, 309 Brilliant Ave., Aspinwall.
