Arthur E. Hussey, Jr., PE
A lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, passed away quietly on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the age of 80. Arthur was the son of the late Arthur E. Hussey, Sr. and Bess M. Hussey and is survived by his beloved son Matthew McLean Hussey as well as many maternal and paternal cousins. Arthur was the Godfather for Scott Corey of Australia.
Arthur earned degrees in Civil Engineering and Business from the University of Pittsburgh’s Schools of Engineering & Mines and Graduate School of Business. He also held licenses for professional engineering and land surveying. His 53-year career included positions in railroad construction, coal mining, environmental remediation, landfills, legal research, transit projects and newspapers with local companies and government. Many of his projects were both regional and national.
Arthur’s community activities included terms as a member and officer on the Board of Directors of the Easter Seal Society of Western Pennsylvania and the Pittsburgh Jung Society. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America Troop 380 and Saint Scholastica Parish. He enjoyed participating with others in scout adventures and projects, golf and vintage auto events as well as both foreign and domestic travel. He will always be held in our memories for devotion to his family, friends and associates and for his wide range of diverse interests.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 17th from 4 pm to 7 pm at the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Ave. Aspinwall, where a parting prayer will be held Monday, June 19th at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 12 noon at Christ the King Parish, St. Scholastica Church, 309 Brilliant Ave. Aspinwall. Interment New St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.
