Alexandra “Zandie” McLaughlin

Age 82 of Fox Chapel, passed away at home on Monday, December 15, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Clifton M. Gatehouse, Jr. and Harry W. McLaughlin, Jr.; loving mother of Clifton M. Gatehouse, III (Sandra) of St. Charles, IL, Brent C. Gatehouse of Pittsburgh and Leslie H. Bonin (Peter J., III) of Newport Beach, CA; dear companion of Bud Toole of Fox Chapel; cherished grandmother of Jessica Vanek (Dean), Shannon Gatehouse, Whitney J. Bonin and Peter J. Bonin, IV; great grandmother of Aubrey Rose Vanek and Jack Clifton Vanek.

Zandie’s presence was pure light and warmth. She was so deeply cherished, a strong and loving mom whose endless devotion made her the heart and soul of our world. She wasn't just the backbone of the family; she was our guiding star, providing strength and comfort in equal measure.

She moved through life with such exquisite grace, a brilliant mind shining brightly, matched only by her independent spirit. Zandie did everything her way, with boundless passion and remarkable success, leaving behind a legacy of love that will forever echo in our hearts. We are all better for having known her love.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 19th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Avenue, Aspinwall.  Service and Interment private. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to a charity of your choice.
