Age 80 of Aspinwall, peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Edward L. Gursky; loving mother of Janice Lynn Gursky; daughter of the late Olive Diamond; adored sister of William (Bonita) Whalen and the late Raymond Diamond; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Virginia, affectionately known by many as "Mama" was well known as having a heart of gold and always helping others on a daily basis. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh and her gift to gab. She was an avid traveler and could not wait for her next adventure including any casino trip along the way. Virginia was also well known for walking 3-5 miles a day for most of her life. She had many adopted children in her life and they were connected not by blood but by heart. The family would like to give a huge heartfelt thanks to our countless number of friends who gave so much love and support during such a difficult time and to the staff at Family Hospice, you truly are all angels on earth. The family will receive friends Friday, November 24, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Ave. Aspinwall, where a service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, O'Hara Township. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in her memory to Family Hospice & Palliative Care 50 Moffett Street Pittsburgh, Pa 15243.
