Roy D. Smith, Sr. 

Age 88, formerly of Aspinwall, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 6, 2017, with his family by his side.  He was a loving husband, father, pap-pap, uncle, brother-in-law and dear friend to all.  Those who knew Roy knew him as a baker and a kind, gentle and understanding man.  He had a career of successfully opening Smith’s Bakery and being a mentor to those in the baking field.  Dear and loving husband of Tobi Smith and the late Jean (Richardson) Smith. Father of Cynthia (James) Azzarello, Michael (Deborah) Smith, the late Deborah (surviving husband, Robert) Kissane, and the late Roy Smith Jr., greatly loved by Tobi’s daughters, Milene (Joseph) Hallos and Mindy Carland. Pap-Pap of Roy Smith, III, Andrea and Michael Smith, Jr., James (Christy) Azzarello, Ashley and Allie Azzarello, Alexandra Cogswell, Hannah Hallos and the late Kimberly Kissane and Danielle Cogswell; Great grandfather of Aiden and Jordan Azzarello; Brother of the late Renee Kennelly, Karl Smith, Caroline Fritsch and Janie Smith.  He will be missed by all. Friends received Monday, May 8, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Ave. Aspinwall, where a parting prayer will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Scholastica Church, Aspinwall. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, O’Hara Twp.
