Richard B. Lyon, Sr.

Age 90 of Longwood at Oakmont, formerly of Fox Chapel, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2017. Husband of the late Catherine B. "Cassie" Lyon; father of Richard Blair Lyon, Jr. and his wife Patricia, and Stuart S. Lyon; grandfather of Kaylin A. Lyon and the late Richard B. Lyon, III;  brother of the late Robert Lyon. Dick, as he was known by his friends, was a graduate of Uniontown High School and played basketball and football for the Red Raiders, he continued his education at Washington & Jefferson College and The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.  He served in the US Navy in WWII then worked in the employee benefits industry with Alexander & Alexander and AON. He was a member of the Fox Chapel Racquet Club for many years and was an avid tennis and platform tennis player.  No Visitation. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel at Longwood at Oakmont, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to the Pace School of which he was a board member for many years.
