Lillian S. (Krist) Marmarella

Age 94, formerly of Aspinwall, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 28, 2018.  Lillian was born in Pittsburgh on July 24, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Stephen and Ann Krist. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, John A. Marmarella, on August 24, 2010. and her siblings, Narcis, Walter, Norman, Richard, Jean, and Ann.  She is survived by her son, John “Jack” Marmarella (Crystal) of Gibsonia and daughter, Jean Moline (Roger), of O’Hara Twp. Lillian was the cherished grandmother of Roger (Amy), Todd (Robin), Ryan, Jason, and Jeff. and her loving great grandchildren Joshua, Blake, and Camryn; loving niece, Donna Drudy, as well as many caring nieces and nephews.  Lillian was a lifetime member of St. Scholastica Catholic Church, a board member of the former Aspinwall Women’s Club, a devoted member of the Christian Mothers, Meals on Wheels, and served as an Allegheny County Judge of Elections for 25 years.  Lillian loved her hometown of Aspinwall, and she had a great passion for helping and caring for the elderly. She was well known for her pizzelles and homemade French salad dressing, and they were always a best seller at church bake sales and community fund raisers.  The family thanks the staff members of Amber Woods, Harmar Village Care Center, and Grane Hospice Care for their loving care of Lillian.  Visitation Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 pm. at the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Avenue, Aspinwall, where a parting prayer will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.  at St. Scholastica Church, Aspinwall. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that any donations be made to the Aspinwall Fire Department, Foxwall Ambulance Service, or St. Scholastica Church.
