Age 79 of Fox Chapel, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017. Born in Detroit, Michigan to A. Joseph Himmelhoch, M.D. and Sarah Jane (Simmons) Himmelhoch. Predeceased by his sister Martha Emily, and his brother, S. Ralph.  Beloved (occasionally challenging) husband of Judith E. Himmelhoch, J.D. Father and personal champion (occasionally trying) to Naomi H. Tiscione (Jason), J.D.; Leah R. Himmelhoch, Ph.D.; Rachel E. Himmelhoch, M.B.A; Darah L. Himmelhoch, D.V.M and M.B.A. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion for those in need, ground-breaking research, a love of languages, a herd of over-educated women, a slew of dirty jokes, bathrobes in all colors, a fierce dedication to the Detroit Tigers, and a love for all animals. No visitation. A private service will be held in February 2018 to celebrate his life and what would have been the 55th anniversary of his marriage to Judy.
