Clarence "Chick" L. Miller, Jr.
Age 94, of O'Hara Twp., passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Helen (VanDyke) Miller; loving father of Keith V. (Lillian) Miller of Costa Mesa, CA and Karen (Donald) Gallo of O'Hara Twp.; brother of the late Marjorie Miller (surviving husband, J. Lee Miller). Chick was a proud WWII Veteran, a B26 pilot known as the widow maker and was lucky to be able to have his entire crew’s reunion to his home in 1994. He graduated from University of Pittsburgh as a Chemical Engineer, joining Phi Gamma Delta (Fiji) fraternity and had many wonderful friends that he remained close with throughout his life. Chick worked at Allegheny Ludlum for over 30 years and was a recipient of 12 patents over the course of his career. He met his beloved wife, Helen through close cousins and shared wonderful experiences as they both traveled around the world. He was known for his quick wit and humor that was still present until the day he left this world and all who knew him loved him for his kindness and wise council. He was a volunteer fireman, little league coach, church deacon at the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, a lousy golfer but loved the game, a wonderful husband, father and father-in-law and will be missed deeply by all who knew him. No Visitation. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, 384 Fox Chapel Road. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
