Funerals/Ceremonies serve an important purpose: they allow us to recognize a life that was lived and acknowledge that the life has come to an end. Funerals/Ceremonies exist for the living, for survivors who suffer the loss of a loved one.
We understand that the needs of every family are different. Influences such as religious and cultural traditions, cost concerns and personal preferences make each funeral as unique as the person who is being honored. The following is an overview of the different types of services that we provide. Our funeral director will discuss the many other options and details that make each services a personal, lasting tribute to your loved one.
Traditional Service
A traditional funeral service includes a viewing or visitation, a formal funeral service (at the funeral home, local church or location of your choice) and the necessary automotive equipment, such as a hearse to transport the body to the funeral site and cemetery. It is customary to purchase items such as a memorial register book, memorial folders and acknowledgement cards. Floral tributes are often displayed and you are encouraged to bring in photographs and other memorabilia to further personalize the service.
Graveside Service
A graveside service is held at the burial site. This service may be limited to the immediate family or open to all. After the service, there are options for a memorial gathering or reception at the church or venue of choice.
Memorial Service
A memorial service is conducted without the body present and can vary in ceremony and procedures. It can be held at the funeral home or at a location of your choice. In order to create a memorial service that is as unique as your loved one, we encourage you to help personalize the service with memorabilia, photographs and other personal items.
Cremation Services
Cremation is a manner of final disposition and there are many options available to families to ease the burden of the decision process.
Following is an outline of several of the most requested cremation options that families have selected.
Full Service Cremation
A visitation and viewing period of the deceased to create a quiet informal moment for friends and family members to pay their respects individually followed by a ceremony in which loved ones together in a formal setting share comfort in music, readings and memories. This is then followed by the cremation of the deceased with the cremated remains either returned to the family or burial in a cemetery to commemorate the final resting place of the deceased.
Limited Cremation Service
A memorial ceremony in which loved ones together in a formal setting share comfort in music, reading and memories, this service does not have a visitation or viewing period of the deceased. The cremation is completed prior to the memorial service with the cremated remains either present at the service or returned privately to the family.
Direct Cremation
No visitation or viewing period of the deceased and no formal ceremony. The deceased is transferred directly to the crematory for cremation with the cremated remains returned to the family.
