Thomas T. "Skal" Skalski

Age 86, of O’Hara Township, formerly of Aspinwall, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Beloved husband to Dorothy (Celender) Skalski and the late Lois (Truitt)Skalski; cherished father of Steve (Gwenn) Skalski, Gwen (Dennis) Muir, Bryan Skalski, and Grant Skalski; brother of the late Joseph, Frank, Raymond, Walter, Edward, Bernard Skalski, Cecelia Brush and Valarie Cordisco; treasured grandfather to Kacey (Nate) Hoot, Molly (Steven) Roach, Jack Muir, and Mara Muir; adored great-grandfather to Nora Roach, Reagan Roach, and Henry Hoot.  Tom was known as the former proprietor and co-founder of Tom & Tud’s Tavern, Aspinwall for 45 years. Friends received Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Ave. Aspinwall, where a service will be held Friday at 11a.m., Officiating will be the Rev. James R. Torquato, followed by a gathering at Tom & Tud’s immediately after the service. Interment private.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Fisher House Foundation, 3945 Forbes Ave. Box 240 Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
