Edward "Ed" Steckel

Age 59 of Shaler Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Beloved husband of 23 years to Martha (Wigginton) Steckel; brother of Diana (Art) Miller and James (Helen) Steckel; uncle of Suzanne (Roger) Spooner, Douglas (Dawn) Skornika, Amanda Steckel and Samantha Steckel; great uncle of Nathaniel Skornika & Lukas Skornika; special friend of Kay Lang. Ed enjoyed his life. He truly liked his work as an Engineer and was proud to be a part of Intertech Security. Being with friends-talking, laughing and having a few beers especially while watching the Penguins play, was one of his favorite things. His dedication to Greyhound Adoption was also a big part of his life. He will be greatly missed by not only our four Greyhounds but by our friends who are our Greyhound family. Visitation Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 2 p.m. to  8 p.m. at WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Ave. Aspinwall. The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 66 Grant Ave. Etna. Everyone please meet at church. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to Nittany Greyhounds, 30 TLD Circle, Port Matilda, PA 16870.
